THE RESTORED MAN

"Come and hear, all you who fear God,
And I will declare what He has done for my soul" - Ps 66:16
"He restores my soul,
He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name sake"
- Ps 23:3

However sometime after this event, I gradually began to back-slide by getting involved with the wrong people. This opened the door for the enemy to come in and decimate my soul (Ps 143:3). It was gripped with fear of evil, torment and worry. My soul was imprisoned and was also in bondage to sin (Ps 142:7). I was merely existing rather than living with no peace or joy inside me and I struggled to do the normal things in life.

I was born into a Christian family in Sri lanka. From a very early age, I was drawn to God and knew there was a divine being who had created everything. However, it was only in the summer of 1987, in Adelaide, Australia that I went forward to an alter call at my local church and received Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.

But God in His great mercy intervened in my life. In 2005, He first miraculously brought my wife to me who began to cry out to God for my deliverance. Soon after in 2007, through my wife God gave me the promise from His Word to raise up the ruins of my soul and rebuild it (Amos 9:11). Thereafter in 2009, while I was working in engineering, God began calling me for His service. This led to the resignation from my engineering post in June of 2010.

However it was In February of 2011, that God began his mighty work of restoring my soul and fulfilling His promise from His Word in Amos 9:11. From this point forward, there would be several days, particularly at the start and end of every month where I would wake up in the mornings and distinctively feel a new man - I noticed very clearly that a tremendous change has taken place on the inside of me. The fear of evil and torment was being removed from my soul and replaced with  peace, rest and strength. God began to become more real to me and in me grew a hunger to know Him more.

Moreover, in April of 2011 God came and drew me and filled me with a burning desire and great boldness to serve Him with my life. That day I decided that I will not return to my career in engineering but will pursue God's call for my life. In June of the same year, God clearly revealed His specific calling for my life and thereafter He began the work of preparing me for His service in the ministry of teaching and equipping the people of God.

In June 2016, the ministry of Young Men in Christ was born with a mission to enable men and women to  become 'young men in spirit' who are strong and mighty in God.

To Jesus be all the glory, praise and honor.
